Quinta da Marinha dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and is closely linked to the history of the Champalimaud family.
After discovering a perfectly unspoiled stretch of land on Portugal’s Atlantic coast near the fishing village of Cascais, Carlos Montez Champalimaud embarked on a bold vision to create a residential estate and tourist destination of exceptional quality.
More than eighty years later, after careful planning and the construction of all the infrastructures and facilities while protecting the environment, the family has transformed what was an inhospitable terrain into a place known above all for its outstanding natural environment.
Extending along the coast between the sea, sand-dunes and pines, the 168-hectare of Quinta da Marinha forms an integral part of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. Today its location, quality and environment make it the best residential and tourist resort in the Greater Lisbon area.
But that´s not all. An exceptional sporting estate has been developed, which includes one of Portugal’s leading equestrian centres, a state-of-art Health and Racket Club and the awarded Oitavos Dunes golf course, where our World Final will take place this Spring.
