World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) are delighted to confirm our latest partners, TUCKER’S POINT CLUB, who have signed on as the license holders of the WCGC in Bermuda.
This will see them officially launch the first National Qualifier on 22nd May 2015 at Tucker’s Point Club. The winning corporate team will go on to represent their company and Bermuda at the 2015 World Final in Cascais.
Distinctly Bermudian in style and character, with an uncompromising emphasis on privacy and luxury, Tucker’s Point Club rivals the finest resort communities in the world. Set on 200 acres of rolling hillsides in Tucker’s Town that overlook a glorious turquoise sea, the Club offers a unique brand of comfort and sophistication for those who appreciate the special charm and lifestyle of Bermuda.
A haven for golfers for over 50 years, the Tucker’s Point Club features some of the best amenities found island-wide such as its Golf, Beach & Tennis Clubs, fabulous restaurants, world-class spa and other recreational facilities.
The 18-hole, par-70 Tucker’s Point Golf Course is the island’s premier golf experience. Originally designed in 1932 by Charles H. Banks, the course was enhanced in 2002 by Roger Rulewich, the former chief designer for Robert Trent Jones.
Golfers traverse undulating fairways with many elevated tees, while coping with the varying speed and direction of changeable winds. Many holes and greens boast dramatic water and overland views, and the greens feature TifEagle, a Bermuda-grass hybrid that makes for a quick putting surface. A practice facility including a driving range, 10,000-square-foot practice putting green and short-game area is featured.
TUCKER’S POINT CLUB Sales and Strategy Manager, Robert Holland said, “We are delighted to be taking the license of this great corporate golf tournament. As you know Bermuda is probably the reinsurance capital of the World, thus our intention is to target this sector as well as many other companies in general who are listed in Bermuda. Both Bermuda and Tucker’s Point are ideal venues to host such an event, and we hope the island takes this competition on board. There are enough corporations based and registered here to make this an amazing competition. We look forward to launching the Bermuda qualifying tournament on Friday 22nd of May.”
Oliver Dury, WCGC Business Development Director said, “I am delighted Tuckers Point have come on board as our official licensed partner in Bermuda. Tuckers Point is a world class resort with great facilities and strong business connections, as a result I am confident the WCGC qualifier will be a huge success in May and for many years to come.”
