It was officially confirmed today that Casino Estoril will host ‘An Evening with Tony Jacklin CBE’ on Friday 3rd July, during this year’s World Corporate Golf Challenge World Final in Cascais.
Casino Estoril, the largest casino in Europe, is located in Estoril, a village located 11 miles southwest of Lisbon, Portugal. During World War II it was reputed to be a gathering spot for espionage agents, dispossessed royals, and wartime adventurers. As a result it was the inspiration for Ian Fleming’s 007 novel Casino Royale.
Paulo Bertão from Casino Estoril said, “We are delighted to be sponsoring the WCGC World Final and hosting ‘An Evening with Tony Jacklin CBE’. We are honoured to welcome a golfing legend like Tony Jacklin and all of the guests to Europe’s largest casino, where they will enjoy an extremely special evening.”
Tony Jacklin CBE on confirming his appearance at Estoril Casino said, “I am very pleased to once again be involved, with the World Corporate Golf Challenge, at this year’s World Final in Cascais. Casino Estoril is a fantastic venue with a lot of history. I look forward to being their and sharing my golfing career with all of the guests in attendance.”
Jose Guerra, WCGC Chairman commented, “We are extremely grateful for the support of Casino Estoril at this years World Final. Both the casino and Tony Jacklin are iconic for very different reasons, but the setting for this event and Tony’s legendary exploits in the game of golf are a great match. It will undoubtedly be a night to remember for all of our guests.”
