The organisers of the World Corporate Golf Challenge, the world’s largest corporate golf event, are delighted to announce that Sogrape Vinhos will be official sponsor of the final round of the 2015 competition. The competition is to be held in Cascais (at Oitavos Dunes golf course) between June 30th and July 5th, drawing participants from over 60 countries.
Sogrape Vinhos will be there with its globally renowned brands Mateus Rosé and Sandeman, official tournament partners.
Sogrape Vinhos is a family company whose wines are sold all around the world – it is one of the market leaders on the Iberian Peninsula. With wineries in five countries on various continents – in Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Chile and New Zealand – Sogrape’s products are sold in over 125 countries.
Sogrape was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes. Headed now by the third generation of the family, its mission today remains the same as ever: to ensure that the world gets to know and love the wines of Portugal. Its focus is on the development of innovative brands with global reach, such as Mateus Rosé, Sandeman, Offley, Ferreira or Casa Ferreirinha.
Sogrape owns more than 1 500 hectares of vineyard around the world, 830 hectares of them in the main winegrowing regions of Portugal. The Sogrape portfolio is impressively wide, and the wines win top prizes in international competitions, to the delight of its winemaking team and everyone who works in the company.
“It’s a perfect fit,” says Jose Guerra, WCGC Chairman, “Mateus Rosé, the world’s best-known rosé, and Sandeman, the most widely-distributed port in the world, with a leading sporting event that enthralls millions all around the world. Golf and wine offer an unbeatable combination of nature and sophistication. Both players and the public accompanying the tournament will have plenty of opportunity to taste these two brands, which are very different but both exceptionally good,” he adds.
Indeed, during the five days of the event, competitors and guests will enjoy various Sandeman Portos and Mateus wines (including Mateus Rosé and Mateus Sparkling). This exciting partnership will make the prestigious World Corporate Golf Challenge all the more memorable.
