There are no buggies at Oitavos Dunes. Competitors are not allowed to use buggies during the official practice and competition rounds, unless genuine medical reasons apply – this must be agreed in advance with Harry Lloyd (Event Director) and if suitable arrangements can be made we will endeavour to make them.
Buggies are available at a reduced rate at Quinta da Marinha for the Licensees & Guest Tournament as well as Day 1 Corporate Cup Invitational. Buggies are available on a first come first serve basis and can be booked prior to arrival or on Check In at the WCGC Event Desk.
Registration / Handicap Certificates
All Competitors/Guests must provide a current handicap certificate which will be checked at the WCGC Event Desk on arrival on the 21st June. Registration and Recording will take place every day in the WCGC Hospitality Area at Oitavos Dunes regardless of playing at Oitavos Dunes or Quinta da Marinha. All Competitors/Guests must register every morning at least 30 minutes before their tee of time.
Golfing World TV will be filming the event from the 21st – 26th June 2016. Prior to the event or on arrival at the WCGC Event Desk, all competitors/guests will be asked to sign a consent form agreeing that they are happy to be filmed during the week. If you have any problems with this then please let Harry Lloyd, Event Director know in advance.
Golf Club Hire
There are a very limited number of Hire Clubs available from Oitavos Dunes & Quinta da Marinha and it is highly recommended that you travel with your own set. If this is not possible then please notify Harry Lloyd, Event Director, who will assist in booking them for you, subject to availability.
Competitors/Guests golf bags will be kept safely and securely either The Oitavos hotel or Quinta da Marinha hotel on your arrival. Golf bags can be collected on the morning of the 22nd June at the hotel. From then on your golf bags will be stored at either Oitavos Dunes golf course or Quinta da Marinha after every round of golf, and can be collected every morning before play. Please note that WCGC will not be held liable for your bags.
From a TV point of view, we ask that each team coordinate and bring the same colour trousers for the competition days (as a back up). Shorts or ¾ length trousers are NOT permitted during the competition rounds. All teams will receive their official pairs of WCGC Tartan Trousers on arrival at the 2016 World Final, however it is not compulsory to wear these during the tournament rounds.
Along with the WCGC Tartan Trousers, all competitors should be provided with Team Uniforms by their National Event for the World Final (with the WCGC National Logo, Road to Cascais Logo and local media partners/sponsors logos). These must be worn for TV purposes during the competition rounds and also for organised photo calls.
All Competitors/Guests will have complimentary use of the practice facilities at Oitavos Dunes throughout their stay. Practice range balls are provided free of charge for competitors/guests.
Competitors will not be allowed to use trolleys for the practice round (22nd June) and official competition rounds (23rd & 24th June). Guests, Sponsors and Licensees who are taking part in either the Guest Competition (22nd & 23rd June at Quinta Da Marinha) or the Corporate Cup Invitational (24th & 25th June at both Quinta da Marinha & Oitavos Dunes) will be allowed to use trolleys. Push trolleys will be provided, free of charge, from Quinta da Marinha and Oitavos Dunes, subject to availability.
Competitors and Licensees/Sponsors/Guests tee times will be allocated on the day prior to play and will be displayed on the event notice boards at both The Oitavos hotel and Quinta da Marinha hotel.
During the Practice Day (22nd June) teams will tee off in their allocated groups. Tee Times for the Practice Day will be on display on the event notice board in The Oitavos hotel and Quinta da Marinha hotel on the 21st June.
Tee times for the first World Final competition round will be drawn at the Welcome Reception (Tuesday 21st June). These will be displayed on the event notice board at The Oitavos hotel and Quinta da Marinha hotel by the morning of 22nd June.
Teams will play in reverse order on the final competition round, taking into consideration the first round scores. Lowest stableford points score will tee off first and so on. Tee Times for the final competition round will be displayed on the event notice board at The Oitavos hotel and Quinta da Marinha hotel on afternoon/evening of 23rd June.
The Licensees & Guest Competition will be organised on the 22nd and 23rd June and will take place at Quinta da Marinha Golf Course. On the 24th (Quinta da Marinha) & 25th June (Oitavos Dunes) all Invited guests ONLY will take part in the Corporate Cup Invitational. Tee Times will be allocated and displayed on the event notice board on the 21st June, 22nd, 23rd & 24th June.
To book tee times outside of all organised golf please make bookings and payment directly with Oitavos Dunes or Quinta da Marinha. Tee times will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
All players taking part in the Licenses & Guests Tournament and Corporate Cup Invitational at Quinta da Marinha, will be provided with a Shuttle Service. The service will operate between Oitavos Dunes and Quinta da Marinha. The Shuttle Service will be situated at the front of both golf clubs.
