LONDON, ENGLAND: The World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) is extremely pleased to announce that LoyaltyCo in Australia have become the latest license holders for the tournament. At the end of November 2012 contracts were signed and LoyaltyCo announced that the National Qualifier for Australia will take place in Melbourne on the 1st March 2013 at the Heritage Golf Club.

The WCGC is one of the biggest corporate golf tournaments in the world. Since its inception in 1993, the event has grown to such an extent that over one million golfers have taken part in more than twenty countries. The WCGC culminates in a World Final event that this year will take place at ‘The Carrick’ in Scotland, officially marking the 20th Anniversary of the tournament.

Brought together by a love of golf and always open to a challenge, the directors of LoyaltyCo have had previous experience of the WCGC. Dennis Atacador and Ben Quist, two of the directors of LoyaltyCo represented Australia at the 2010 World Final in South Africa, where they were runners-up. Returning home and raving about the experience they had, they both decided that there was a good opportunity to develop the WCGC in Australia further.

José Guerra, Chairman of the WCGC, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with LoyaltyCo and look forward to welcoming the winners of the Australian national event to the 2013 World Final. It a personal pleasure that two of the four gentlemen that form LoyaltyCo experienced this great event at the 2010 World Final and as a result of this decided to become license holders for Australia.”

Ben Quist from LoyaltyCo, said “LoyaltyCo, supported by the management at the Heritage Golf Club, believe they are in the perfect position to provide a premier golf event for Australian business owners and high level managers at this outstanding Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. Australia looks forward to presenting a competitive team that has been honed from some of the most picturesque and challenging golf courses in the world – and as the world knows with Australians and sport, we come to the competition with winning in mind!”
