CASCAIS

Cascais and its spectacular coastline is a must-see destination for any visitor to Portugal. Flanked on two sides by the Atlantic Ocean, the region is only 25 km from Lisbon and its international airport. Nearby, passing the beach of Guincho, is the imposing Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe.

With a microclimate that lasts throughout the year, the Portuguese Riviera (as it is known in the region) offers a surprising variety of landscapes and attractions. From entertainment to business options: golf, sun, sea and water sports. Additionally, Cascais offers a new definition of the concepts of ecotourism, intended for various activities such as hiking, horseback riding, etc.

OITAVOS DUNES LINKS

Designed in 2001 by renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills, Oitavos Dunes is considered one of the best golf courses in Europe and the World.

Positioned in the prestigious 58th ranking “Top 100” Golf Magazine (2015 edition), the course ranks number one in Portugal and number two in Europe.

Designing the golf course was based on the respect and conservation of the delicate ecosystem of the dunes on which it sits. Oitavos Dunes is the first golf course in Europe and second in the world to achieve the “Gold Signature Sanctuary status” quality certificate, granted by Audubon International in recognition of the highest level of conservation. Each of the 18 holes offer breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Sintra.

WORLD CORPORATE GOLF CHALLENGE

It’s been over 20 years since The Times newspaper, in 1993, started the WCGC as a platform for ‘bringing the world of business together’ in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere using Golf as the mean. First in the UK and years later, countries like India, Malaysia, Sweden, Spain, Italy and New Zealand, among others, were participating, offering local executives from various economic sectors a platform to network. More than 40 countries participated at the 2016 World Final in Cascais, Portugal. 150 national qualifying events have been organised under the auspices of the WCGC that attract over 7,500 business executives, annually.
