YUZHOU WINE have won the World Finals of World Corporate Golf Challenge held at Oitavos Dunes Links, in Cascais, Portugal. President of YUZHOU WINE, XiuPing Yuan and his team mate Sen Ye, playing off handicaps 7 and 4 respectively, triumphed with a total of 123 stableford points. The team from The Inventor Solutions, consisting of Muhammad Babar Khokhar and Zain Tahir from Pakistan, both playing off a handicap of 5, finished runners-up with 120 stableford points. In third position, Turkey, represented by Hasan Ceylan and Xiaowei Gong from BONY SOCKS, ended with 117 stableford points.

Over 6,300 corporate executives representing 3,150 teams competed for the coveted trophy, in qualifiers throughout 35+ countries in 5 continents. The World Final saw a total of 38 teams (76 golfers) battle it out for a chance to represent their companies and countries at Portugal’s No. 1 golf course, the Oitavos Dunes in Cascais.

It is the first time in the history of WCGC that China have been crowned World Corporate Golf Champions.

Speaking at the Prize Giving Ceremony, XiuPing Yuan, President – YUZHOU WINE stated, ‘We are very pleased to be the winning team. I think this is a great moment for our company and China, as we win our first International competition, in this fantastic destination that is Cascais.’

About WORLD CORPORATE GOLF CHALLENGE

It’s been over 20 years since The Times newspaper, in 1993, started the WCGC as a platform for ‘bringing the world of business together’ in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere using Golf as the mean. First in the UK and years later, countries like India, Malaysia, Sweden, Spain, Italy and New Zealand, among others, were participating, offering local executives from various economic sectors a platform to network. More than 40 countries participated at the 2016 World Final in Cascais, Portugal. 150 national qualifying events have been organised under the auspices of the WCGC that attract over 7,500 business executives, annually.
