Quinta do Côtto is the terroir par excellence of the Montez Champalimaud house. Located in the oldest and most traditional Douro wine production sector in Cidadelhe, about 10 km from Mesão Frio, it is one of the most emblematic properties in the entire region. Its 70 hectares of vineyard can be found in the oldest official documents of the region, it being part of the group of the first to be planted in the Douro valley.
One of the ex-libris of Quinta do Côtto is an ample and elegant building, which was constructed at the beginning of the 19th century, and was built on top of a building from the 15th/16th century of which vestiges can still be found. The rear façade of this architectural treasure from the middle ages bore witness to the first passage of the Montez family before the foundation of the Monarchy in 1140.
Quinta do Côtto is the name that became ingrained in memory, not only for its long life, but for the wines to which it lends its name. Quinta do Côtto Grande Escolha marked the beginning of a new era in the Douro, confirming the region’s potential for producing great “Quinta” wines, a movement pioneered by the producer.
Currently, four labels are made at Quinta do Côtto: Quinta do Côtto, Quinta do Côtto Vinha do Dote, Quinta do Côtto Bastardo and Quinta do Côtto Grande Escolha.

It is with great pleasure that we embrace the partnership with World Corporate Golf Challenge. We like to work with partners that share the same values as we do – the love for the “game” we are in, the respect for its traditions, players and longevity. We are looking forward to toast with Quinta do Côtto at the golf course!
