This year 278 teams participated in the WCGC Japan qualifier tournament. The number of participating team is increasing every year in Japan. The competition was held nationwide at 15 golf courses.

Under clear blue sky, 68 teams advanced to the final qualifier round that was held at the prestigious Nara International Golf Club which is well known as a venue for top amateur tournaments for men and women in Japan. Nara International Golf Club opened in 1957 and this year marks its 60th anniversary. The WCGC was the highlight of the series of celebratory events during the club’s anniversary year.

Team All Nippon Airways, Takayuki Wada and Hiraku Aoki, won the Japan qualifier with the score of 65 under the Four-Ball format. Team ANA’s combination of captain Wada and his co-pilot Aoki beat out a very competitive field to earn the right to represent Japan in the World Corporate Golf Challenge 2018. The excellent team work of captain and his co-pilot was showcased on the golf course as it is every day when they fly the skies. Good luck to Team ANA as they represent Japan at the WCGC world final!
